This week on Wednesday 12 children in year 6 went to Clee fields for a athletics competition.  Altogether there were 12 schools there.

 There were lots of events  like races,juping and throwing. At the end we came in 5th place.

Grimsby town

This week we have just started to do about Grimsby town and their stadium.  All of y6 have answered some questions to do with the new Grimsby town stadium to be built where they want it to be built.

 

Maths

On thurday we learnt how to used vertical subtraction. We read word problems which were stubtractions.  On friday we look at SAT’s questions and we had to work out the operation for the question to work out the problem. Most of them were take aways.

Arguments

All week we have been doing arguments about  banning smoking in public places.  On Thursday afternoon we did a debate on the smoking ban and all of 6e had to argue reasons for and against.

Maths

On thursday morning with miss Emson in maths we did colum addition we used three four digit numbers. On friday morning we did a quick mental maths task, then  we learnt how to use vertical subtraction also with for digit numbers.

Windows movie maker

In history we are all still trying to win the Olympic bid for 2024 for the Olympic to be in England.  We made a movie on windows movie maker and both of the year 6 classies made a movie and added some music and picturers to it.

The picturers had to mach the music to make it mach right.  Mr Bate showed us all at first then he let us get to work.

In litercy we have been doing all about argumets and we had to answer questions about one piece of text called ‘ Should mobile phones be banned in school’.
